The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and Guest Conductor, Carl Topilow, Bring Broadway Favorites to Powers Auditorium

On Friday, February 4, 2022, at 7:30 PM, guest conductor, Carl Topilow, and guest artist, Connor Bogart, will join the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra to bring Broadway and Beyond to Powers Auditorium at the DeYor Performing Arts Center. This concert will feature Broadway’s favorite tunes from musicals such as Chicago, Grease, and Fiddler on the Roof as well as well-known pop hits such as Copacabana, Hey Jude, and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Carl Topilow is celebrated worldwide for his versatility, whether at the podium conducting or playing his signature red clarinet.  Currently celebrating his 25th season as Music Director and Founding Conductor of Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Topilow’s programs are eclectic and often include the music of Broadway, Hollywood, jazz, rock, and light classics. Topilow has performed as guest conductor with 125 different orchestras in 37 states and 12 foreign countries. Recently named Faculty Emeritus after 37 years as Conductor and Director of the Orchestral Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Topilow continued as principal instructor of the master’s program in orchestral conducting for two additional years 

Guest artist, Connor Bogart, studied vocal performance/opera at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in New York. He has been a featured soloist with The Cleveland Pops, The Symphony of Southeast Texas, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Akron Symphony, and The Toledo Symphony amongst others. His notable theater performances include leading roles in Miss Saigon, Sweenery Todd, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Altar Boyz. Connor has toured the U.S. and performed as the opening act on over 20 national tours, including Huey Lewis and The News, Richard Marx, Hall & Oates, and Mariah Carey. 

Single tickets for the February 4th concert range from $42 to $62, inclusive of all fees. Discounts are available for seniors and students.
