Opera Western Reserve Presents The Three Pigs and a Blanket & The Big Baaad Cabaret

Opera Western Reserve is returning to live performances with back-to-back events at the DeYor Performing Arts Center on June 11. First up are two free performances of The Three Little Pigs children’s opera at 4:30 pm and again at 6 pm in the outdoor courtyard at DeYor Performing Arts Center. Families can bring blankets or chairs and a picnic. Each performance can accommodate up to 125 people and will last 40 min. Tickets are required to ensure social distancing. In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors [without the picnic].

At 8 pm The Big, Baaad Cabaret will feature soprano Randa Rouweyha and tenor Jesus Daniel who will ‘let their hair down’ a bit in a unique and fun performance. Randa [a sparkling Rosina opposite Lawrence Brownle, and a haunting Lucia] and Jesus [that sexy Pinkerton in Butterfly] have each performed in several OWR operas in the past. This will be their first time performing duets together for OWR audiences. The evening will feature songs ranging from opera arias to Broadway favorites and maybe a surprise or two.

Tickets for the cabaret are priced at $35 [box office fee included]. VIP tickets are $55. Following the performance, VIP ticket holders will be treated to a dessert buffet and a flute of prosecco for a celebratory toast. Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 30.

Masks required, except when eating. Let’s stay safe out there.
