Event Information

Songwriters Series is all about country music songwriters, their story, and their songs. The songwriters, with guitar-in-hand, take turns telling the stories behind their hit songs and performing them in the raw, as originally written. Bob DiPiero, a native of the Valley, is the originator and host of the continually sold-out Country Music Association’s Songwriters Series which brings Nashville’s finest songwriters and artists to major venues in New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and abroad. In 2007, he was inducted into the Nashville Walk of Fame and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has had over 1,200 songs recorded by other artists. This year, this special show is being generously brought to the Valley by Hometown Pharmacy and YSU Cliffe College of Creative Arts to benefit Sojourner House. This performance is considered a unique regional event within the Cleveland to Pittsburgh market and as a special guest, Vince Gill will join Bob on stage. Vince Gill is one of the most awarded and instantly recognizable country music stars of our time and will visit us while on a short break during his tour with the Eagles. Also on stage is Blessing Offor, a contestant from season seven of the Voice where he was mentored by Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, and Alicia Keys. Blessing is blind and emigrated from Nigeria to be educated and treated for his condition as a child.
